Thank you to our donors for helping us produce
the next big
Broadway hit!!!
While donations are no
longer being accepted for The Most Ridiculous Thing You Ever Hoid, we want every donor
to know that you helped our show not only materially, but with
your good wishes. Your encouragement has been our mainstay.
Ridiculous Thing just finished
a sold-out run at Urban Stages in New York City, part of the 2010
New York Musical Theatre Festival's Next Link Project. Some of
you traveled to see it and some of you who could not make
it donated anyway. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
On behalf of my co-writers Andy Seiler and Jim
Beckerman, I tip my hat to you all.
— Fred Wemyss
Co-writer, The Most Ridiculous Thing You Ever Hoid
The New York Musical Theatre (NYMF) is a great
opportunity – and a great
challenge. It's a great opportunity because NYMF is the WORLD RECOGNIZED
FESTIVAL that launched such hits as Altar Boyz, Gutenberg! The Musical and
the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning Next To Normal. The Most
Ridiculous Thing You Ever Hoid could be next!
It's a challenge because of the way the festival works. NYMF
provides the theater, the publicity, the prestige, the know-how.
The writers provide everything else. Andy was almost killed
by Ramsay Hunt Syndrome and is now seriously disabled – he
could not help in any way. Jim and Fred both have print media
jobs
– which speaks for itself.
In order to produce The Most Ridiculous Thing You Ever Hoid,
Jim and Fred needed to spend more than $22,000, from their own
resources to pay for Equity actors, directors, stage managers. We
needed your help, and you gave it!
